This is one of my favorites to start off, I'm a big fan of superhero media being lampooned or joked about in a way that isn't too mean spirited or fourth wall breaking. Examples being games like Dispatch or shows like the Venture Brothers.
This book gave me vibes similar to those, full of humor but still managing to hit the emotional beats.
I felt angry with the the main character Anna and horrified at the truth of what heroics do to the world. I felt triumphant at her wins and scared at her loses. This book took me for a ride.
A lot of the side characters aren't super fleshed out but they are all entertaining. The ones who are fleshed out like Keller resonated with me in the way life sometimes takes you in a different direction than the ones you love.
The world building is also so engaging without being too mired in pointless details.
I give perfect scores to books that do everything or needs to do and this one checks that box and more. Big 5/5 and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
Heyy, I’m looking for a beginner-friendly Rollerskating Workshop in the Netherlands. What are good places to learn how to rollerskate here? Also if you are or know someone who could teach rollerskating it would be awesome if you would dm me :)
J Gray, the Cyberpunk Line Lead at RTG, has a habit of doing flash AMAs on the RTG Discord from time to time, and he did one yesterday. I would've had this transcript up yesterday, but I've finally gotten around to playing Outer Wilds and it was absolutely worth it. I can say nothing about Outer Wilds other than "Go play it and do not look up anything about it." Anyway.
Since toggling back and forth in a crowded discord channel is a pain in the nuts (and not everyone is in the RTal discord server), I compile all the questions and answers on the Community Downlink for easier reference and readability.
Both used to be normal beings with tragic lives (Ion was a slave of the Daevites and Lamb was a sacrificial lamb for the Old Faith). They were saved by powerful deities (Yaldabaoth and the One Who Waits) who granted them many powers.
Ion and Lamb then founded religions (Sarkicism and the titular Cult Of The Lamb) and they eventually rebelled against their gods, beating them in an epic battle and taking their place as deities.

I do a lot of dating both on and offline. And I like cocks - both big and small though, realistically, with different use cases. And I've realised the one size I hate hearing most from guys is 5".
Before reading this list I wanna make it clear: almost any number I hear before we're in the bedroom is likely to be off by a half inch to an inch. But that cuts both ways, some guys under-measure or have low self-esteem. But the metadata for the '5 inch claim' is universally bad:
1.) Has never measured but heard this was 'average'. In case you are wondering, no, none of the 'two scared to measure' crowd then turned out to be hung.
2.) Measured it, got an accurate result, then spent 20 minutes getting his dick as hard as possible, tilting the ruler, sucking his tummy in and squinting till he convinced himself he was just far enough over the 4'5" mark to 'round up' to a non-embarrassing number. Expects you to play along when he whips his 4 incher out.
3.) Genuinely, sincerely fucked up the measurement. Will get butthurt and teary if you treat it like its actual size.
4.) 5.5-6.5 without the self esteem to fuck
5.) Genuine micropenis. Is not exaggerating, but straight up lying. Last 3 gfs left him because of his size. Says 5 inches because it sounds plausible for now. You'll work it out the second time he avoids unzipping, but he'll keep it quiet for months. Cries when he tells you. (This happened to me a couple of times. Which isn't a lot but it's weird, etc.)
6.) Has an in depth monologue about how actually 5" is statistically average, despite my anecdotal experiences or those of literally every woman I know. Is more than 0.5" below the average he quotes. Suddenly has a deep critique of study methodologies when you plug his stats into calc.sd.
7.) Genuinely huge guys who want to know you want them for who they are (seemingly an urban legend)
Meatoids (the people of this setting) are stuck in this afterlife of true immortality where their deformed numb skinless bodies are recreated over and over again in a lake of toxic sludge being pulled out and grafted together with metal parts from a factory and sent out into the wastes indebted to the factory
Rather than just leaning on abject hopelessness and despair I wanted to explore the way people cope with this impossible situation and try to survive or even change things for the better.
I know title sounds a bit like ragebait, but I promise I’m asking this genuinely.
With how much content teens are consuming on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram these days, it feels like there is so much miscommunication and weird stereotyping between young guys and girls. A lot of kids seem to get their ideas about how the opposite sex thinks, acts, or lives strictly through social media algorithms, which usually hyper focus on extreme hot takes or gender war drama.
It made me wonder if high schools should offer, or even require, a course that breaks down some of these misunderstandings. Not just basic bio/health class stuff, but actually addressing social dynamics, common myths, empathy, and what growing up is actually like from the other perspective. The goal would basically be helping teenagers see each other as normal people rather than some completely alien species.
Do you think a class like this would actually be useful for teenagers today, or would it just turn into another awkward, ineffective elective that kids ignore? How was this dynamic handled back when you were in school?
I had a dream. I cant remember much from the start, but I remember the store sequence well. We were in a near-endless store, and I kept telling my friends & family who were accompanying me "I really want a Hershey bar I remember eating.. It was so good." which Is why we went to the store.
We were looking at a shelf full of candy bars. My family pulled out one, said in a cheery voice; "Ooh! I love these, is this it?" It was a Reeses chocolate bar. I said "No, thats not it. They are in a little box, and they are always on the shelves. You just take one out, you dont buy a entire box either.". In my mind, a little image popped up, which i will try recreating..
The elusive "Discount Box"..
This is what I saw. In my dream, this was something that youd put into a shelf and lock it into one of those slit holes in the shelves thru the side cutter things on the box. (which were thinner now that i think of it) Each shelf was "leaning back". The dark green lines are the shelves, but i was too lazy so now it just looks like the boxes are standing on the light green edging borders. Each shelf behind the other would be more higher, aswell. The shelves kept going up till the third one (i remember three shelves only on each main shelf area)
It also had this same white background and "99.$" text on the side. Im not sure about the blue, sideways stick-on label on the side though.
We tried to find these for ages and eventually we went to a restaurant. (somehow) At the restaurant, i was in more of a "third-person" view where i couldnt quite see myself. We saw some stuff being made and then put on the counter infront of us (it wasnt for us, though). My male friend said; "Wow! Floutons, and look at how cheap they are!" I have tried to recreate what they looked like. We didnt see a bit one (i believe) but we saw the first version. Ignore how the first one looks wedgeshaped. They were longer in the dream aswell, these are shorter then the average candy-bar in this image as i accidentally made them this way.
The infamous "Floutons". The weird shiny blackish brown swirly line on top (which bulged outward like those Creme chocolates you can sometimes find in chocolate boxes) likely hints to it being something Creme related.
I do not know if they were called "Floutons", it is simply how the word sounded in my memory and in the dream.
The dream ended around there.. im not sure what this "elusive Hershey" snickers bar even was!
Apparently, "Reeses Chocolate Bars" existed in the dream, too, because i kept having images of them in my head and being like "no.. thats not it.. go to another one why cant i remember what it looks like.." in my head until i remembered the "discount box".
